AFTER HAVING ONE of the most financially successful and critically acclaimed years in its 91-year history, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) kept the ball rolling during early-2025, as its alliance with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) continued to be remarkably beneficial for both companies.
This time around, CMLL kicked the year off with its contribution to the Tokyo Dome Wrestle Dynasty show, produced by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), Stardom, All Elite Wrestling, and Ring of Honor (ROH), as well as CMLL. On this show, Hechicero, Mascara Dorada, Soberano Jr., and Titan represented the Mexican promotion during the Lucha Gauntlet match, while Persephone did the same during the International Women’s Cup.
Unfortunately, none of the Mexican stars left with the victory. But the alliance with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling…
